Blown Away & Back Again!

Most of the country suffered through 4 or 5 Polar Vortexes, one right after another, this past winter (2013-2014).  With temps staying around zero and windchills of -35 degrees below zero for weeks on end, I suffered horribly from my fibro and cabin fever.  I swore, if I survived, I'd take off for someplace warm and beautiful.

I did.  I went to Taos, New Mexico for two weeks.  It took 18 hours to get there in the truck.  The first day (April 13) I traveled 8 hours across Northern Missouri and down into central Kansas.

I stayed at the Swedish Country Inn (B&B) in Lindsborg, KS.  It was a pretty little town, settled by Swedish immigrants in the 1800s.  It's claim to fame are these cute little horse statues (Dala Horses) to be seen all over town, painted by local artists.  I rounded me up a small herd of them the next morning, before I took off for the second part of my journey to Taos.

Here are a few of my favorites.

This is a Salvador Dali Dala Horse.
